Vice Chairman James McLane

James McLane began his volunteer professional fire and EMS career in 1997 at Beekmantown Volunteer Fire Department in Clinton County, NY. He served as Lieutenant and obtained his NYS EMT Basic certification, as well as holding the position of President. In 2005, he moved with his family to Jefferson County and joined the Town of Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, where he held the positions of Captain of Engine 3 and Lieutenant of Engine 3, and served as the department's treasurer for five years. In 2007, he helped form a non-profit 501(c)(3) ambulance service within the Town of Watertown and served as Director of Operations until he departed the organization in 2017.

After moving with his family to Lewis County in 2017, James joined Beaver Falls Fire Department as a firefighter and NYS EMT Basic. He currently holds the position of 1st Assistant Fire Chief/EMT Basic and also works as a per diem NYS EMT Basic at Lewis County Search and Rescue since 2018. In 2022, he became the Lewis County Director of Believe NNY, a non-profit organization that assists volunteer fire, EMS, and auxiliary members monetarily with life-threatening illnesses such as cancer. James also works full-time on Fort Drum as a DoD civilian in the Public Works Roads and Grounds Division.

James is married to his best friend since 1997, and they have two beautiful daughters, Samantha (20) and McKenzie (19), who also serve with him in volunteer service at Beaver Falls Fire Department.

James is an ex officio member of all Board sanctioned committees.
